What is a Backlink
Before we explore which tools allow you to check for backlinks, I’d first like to clarify what I mean when I talk about “backlinks”. A backlink is basically an incoming hyperlink from another website to yours. There are two different types of backlinks:
External backlink
An external backlink is a hyperlink from the website of another domain.
e.g. www.example.com links to www.webpage.com
Internal backlink
An internal backlink is a hyperlink from one webpage to another within the same domain.
e.g. www.example.com/page-1 links to www.example.com/page-2
